April 2007
These photos were taken from our visit to campus just days before the Virginia Tech tragedy.
November 2005
Sunday the 13th. We only passed through Blacksburg long enough to do some Christmas shopping at the book store and to take a short walk around downtown. I love fall in Blacksburg.
June 2005
Sunday the 12th. Amy and the boys spent a cloudy day exploring the
Virginia Tech campus. As with the previous trips on campus, Jackson loved
going into the classrooms, let's just hope that enthusiasm doesn't fade in the
next fifteen years. They also fed the ducks at the duck pond crackers,
somehow we've missed doing during the last visits. Rains flirted with
falling most of the afternoon and kept Amy from getting too far away from the
van with the boys, but they spent the entire day there and had a lot of fun.
They had lunch at Macado's and ice cream at Ben and Jerry's (just another place
that wasn't there in our days). Amy said that the campus continues to
sprawl and look more and more unrecognizable.
July 2004
Friday
the 23rd. To celebrate my upcoming birthday on the 26th, the family
spent the day together in Blackburg, VA on campus at Virginia Tech. The
boys had their first taste of a Mike's famous hamburger (Mommy and Daddy say mmmmm!!!),
before exploring the campus and downtown. Jackson rode his scooter all
over campus and Benjamin walked through the classrooms of Mcbride Hall before
both boys fell asleep in the stroller. Then before leaving town we visited
our friends the Burchers. Jackson and Benjamin enjoyed playing with
Ella, Eva, and
Sally while mom and dad
visited with Shauna and Chris.
August 2002
Jackson went to college in August. At least that is the way he
puts it. We visited Va Tech for Stepping Out in Blacksburg and Jackson really dug
it. He had to go into a "classroom building" and he could have stayed in
them all day if it was up to him. Big chalk boards on all the walls seemed like a
great idea to him. We also got to visit with Paula, Andy, Shauna, Chris, and baby
Ella.

Tech vs. Boston College - November 26, 1999
I was very fortunate to be in attendance when Michael Vick led Tech to victory over Boston College, ending their 1999 regular season undefeated.
