Welbert Rogers
WWII Hero
Papa Welbert served in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery. He participated in all 5 European Battles and was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
We have framed the sword that Papa Welbert took off one of the German officers killed in the battle described above in his Bronze Star letter. His medals hang below the sword.
One meets very few real heros in their life. I am very lucky to have had one in my family. I am immensly proud of what Papa Welbert did for our country. I can't even imagine what he saw and went through during WWII, from Omaha Beach all the way through France. He was a true American Hero.
