Monday, May 29th, 2017. I set a goal of climbing 29,029 ft on my bike this month, which is the height of Mt Everest.  I surpassed the goal today when I hit 30,367 ft during a ride to Mabry Mill.  A lot of sweat equity went into that month long project.

Sunday, May 28th, 2017.  Ben played his last game with Paschal Soccer Academy.  His team won 2-1.  It was an early morning game in Greensboro.  When we got home I made a quick trip to Kibler to do a little paddling.

Saturday, May 27th, 2017. Ben spent his birthday playing soccer in High Point.  The day started early with an 8am game.  Jackson joined us, so we went to Winston-Salem to do some shopping between games.  For his birthday, I picked up a new helmet for Ben to use when he kayaks.  We then went back to High Point for a second game, then capped things off with an hour at AirBound.
Friday, May 26th,2017. We celebrated Ben's birthday early with dinner at Chili's with the family followed by Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Thursday, May 25th, 2017. Jackson coached his team to an undefeated season and tournament championship.

Saturday, May 20th, 2017. Amy and I enjoyed an evening at Round Peak listening to our old friend Steve play music while getting to catch up with our friends the Kniskerns, Barnards and McCluskeys.  I made a nice ride up Pipers Gap and down 89 earlier that morning.

.  Lots of bike riding this month.  I am climbing a mountain on every ride. On Monday I made my longest ride to date with Jim Farthing.  We climbed Sauratown and Hanging Rock and rode 52 miles.

Sunday, May 14th, 2017. Congratulations to our nephew Jimmy!  He graduated from Hampden-Sydney and won an award for the most constructive leadership. And Happy Mother's Day to Amy!

Saturday, May 13th, 2017. We were very happy to be visiting the Mills family on the same weekend as our niece Nicole's prom.

Monday, May 8th, 2017. Amy, Ben and I spent the weekend in Asheville, NC on a FPCMA youth mission trip.  The weekend was very rewarding.  We spent the morning volunteering at the Steadfast House, then spent the afternoon learning about the challenges faced by the homeless in Asheville.  That evening we all went to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2, then returned home early on Sunday.
