hot streak in Ft Chiswell tournament

31st, 2012. Went 1-2 in the Carroll County AAU tournament, loosing
twice to the Southside Stars.
Tuesday,
March 6th, 2012. Jackson and the Patrick Prowl 6th grade AAU team wrapped up
their 2011-2012 season Sunday with a 2nd place finish in the Ft Chiswell Amanda
Montgomery Memorial Tournament. They won their first three games by
increasing margins and were playing their best basketball of the year going into
the championship game, where they held a 4 point lead at
halftime before things slipped away in the 2nd half. It was a
fantastic weekend though and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the team pay
basketball. Jackson came off the bench in the semi-final game and went on
a 6 minute hot streak, shooting 5 for 5 from the field, scoring 11 points in the
process. Click

that game 72-38. Jackson has been on more teams than I can count and has
had many, many great experiences in sports. But I rank his experience with
the Patrick County Prowl at the very top. All the boys got along great,
they played hard together on the court and played just as hard between the
games. I think the memories and friendships made will stick with Jackson
for a long time. As fun as the basketball was, I think the boys had just
as much fun, if not more, horsing around at our house or at Hunter's between
games, joking around at restaurants after the games or just hanging out in gyms
between games. Frank was a great coach, the team improved and enjoyed the
season. And Jackson got to play lots and lots of basketball. What
more could you ask for.
2/25-26/2012.
The Prowl were put into a tough Saturday bracket in the Pilot Mountain, but
played a really close, good game against the Carolina Falcons before facing the
Davie Fastbreak for the 2nd time this season. They opened the Silver Round
bracket with a win against the Surry Stars (Dobson) Sunday morning before
falling to the NC Kings in a fast paced game later that afternoon.
2/18/2012.
Tough weekend in Patrick County tournament as the team went 0-4. Probably
their worst performance of the year, but they were again shorthanded, missing 4
players, due to sickness and the VA JR Beta convention in Richmond. They
finished the day with a lot of hustle in a hard fought loss to the Heat in the
consolation round.

2/4/2012. Tough weekend in Fort Chiswell. The team went 0-3.
1/28/2012. My sister Deana took the photos below at a
one day fundraiser for the Prowl on their home court at the Patrick County High
School. They won two games and lost one.
1/21-22/2012. The Prowl made it to the championship game in the Silver Round of the Pilot Mt tournament on Jan 22nd by defeating the Surry Stars and the Mt Airy Heat, but lost to the Surry Thunder for the second time this year. They were 2-2 for the weekend with a first day loss to the Davie Fastbreak.

Highlights from two wins against Floyd on 12/31/2011
1/7-8/2012. The Prowl went 1-2 at the Dobson Tournament. They were even with the Surry Thunder until late in the game and were ahead of the West Wilkes Whirlies by as much as 12 points with just three minutes left and held the lead until the last seconds of the game. They followed those two losses up with a 34 point victory over the Surry Stars.
