Camp Moorefield

Sunday, June 25th, 2017. Ben, Amy and I went by the farm to do a little fishing.  Ben reeled them in as fast as he could cast it out.  He caught two really nice bass and a bunch of bluegills. I think he liked driving the four wheeler as much as he did fishing though.

Sunday, May 22nd, 2016. We spent a great day as a family fishing at the Moorefield Place.  Amy packed a great lunch, Papa stopped by, River had the best day of his life. Ben fished and caught two bluegills, plus one beautiful bass.  Jackson worked on getting River to swim.  It was a breezy, cool blue sky day.  We should get over there more often.

Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th, May 2009

Sunday the 20th and Monday the 21st, June 2004.  Amy, Jackson, Benjamin, Jimmy, Emma and I all went on a camping/fishing trip for Father's Day.  We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows, made s'mores, fished, hiked, told ghost stories, and sang campfire songs.  Papa helped us carry our gear into the Moorefield Place  and then returned with Caleb for a little while after dinner.  The trip was a big success, even for Jimmy and Benjamin who were spending their first night out in the wilderness.

Here is a picture of us camping in the summer of '76.  Notice my sisters and I peeking out of the old canvas tent, the redwood stained picnic table, the kid chair, and the 54 Ford that got us there.  I turned seven that month.  What I remember about the trip is that Dad woke us up early one morning to see an albino doe at the top of the ridge and that we caught a mud turtle that drove our German Shepard Colonel crazy.
