My favorite radio station is WNCW in Spindale NC, which can be listened to online now.
Mount Airy is steeped in Old-Time Music tradition and the local AM station, WPAQ, is world famous within the Old-Time community for supporting it. Mount Airy may be best none as the home of Andy Griffith, but every fan of Old-Time knows that Mount Airy is also the home of Tommy Jarrell.
Sugar in the Gourd provides a good online resource for Old-Time, all you have to do is setup a Live365 account. I love the Live365 stations, my presets include BoatDrinks, Biker Radio, and Desktop Grass.
No Depression is the bimonthly magazine covering alternative-country music.
WUNC has a great radio show, Backporch Music.

Bluegrass in Galax - Galax, VA
Mountain Breeze - Mount Airy, NC
Rex Theater - Galax, VA
Sawbriar Acoustic Stage - Pilot Mountain, NC
Surry Arts Council - Mount Airy, NC
The Garage - Winston-Salem's Alternative Source of Sound
None of the Above - Mount Airy based bluegrass band. I actually found them online.
Collings Guitars - I want their D1 with sunburst finish.
Martin Guitars - I like their D37 Lucinda Williams and the HD-28, of course I don't have 5 grand, so the HD-28 would be nice. But I don't have 3 grand either. So I will dream about either a D-28 or D-35.
Fender - I already have the Strat I want, but if I one the lottery, I could always use a few more. Maybe a SRV model with those Texas Special pickups. And maybe a '62 Vintage or '65 Custom Shop.
