Tuesday, July 11th, 2006.  I'm not caught up on photos yet, but I did get caught up on some movies.  I thought these three were worth sharing...

And I also put some of my friend Jeff's clips of other paddlers together and made a second video of Kibler Valley.    Kibler Valley2 (7.5MB) Jul06 - assorted paddlers

Our nephew Jimmy started missing his family after about a week into his stay with us, which is understandable, so his dad came to pick him up this morning.  Amy and the boys met them in Burlington to shorten Alan's drive.  Since they were already in the neighborhood and since admission is free with our Sci-Works membership, Amy, Jackson and Ben went to the Greensboro Science Center.  Or as Ben calls it, the Dinosaur House.   They also went to the eyeglass store at Jackson's pediatric ophthalmologist's office in Greensboro to look for a new pair of glasses.  But Amy discovered that the very nice lady that has been there since Jackson got his first pair five years ago left and was replaced by two very unfriendly and very unhelpful ladies.  We aren't going to drive over an hour for bad service, heck, we can get that anywhere!  So they left and came home.

The Had A Bad Day song in Jimmy's belly flop clip reminds of something I meant to post about a few days ago.  On Saturday, during a moment of chaos at the house, Ben ended up without underwear or a pull-up on.  He's been awesome about #1 going in the potty, but not so good about #2.  For #1 he walks up to the big potty and stands using a stool, which I think is great.   I was in the living room when I saw Ben walk through in only a shirt, but like I said, things were chaotic at the time, so I let him stay like that.  Amy knew he was going commando, but thought that I had taken care of it.  I went upstairs to do something when I hear Amy yell for help from the living room.  She had found Ben standing in front of the television, holding the stand it sits on, squatting and doing you know what right in the floor.  In the middle of all the other commotion, Amy tackled the job of removal and cleaning the carpet while I tackled the job of cleaning Ben.  So I'm standing there, mad that we let something like that happen, trying to clean Ben, who was quite a mess, when... and I'm not making this up, it really happened... Ben started singing... you guessed it,  "So you had a bad day..."

Happy Birthday Bear!  (We miss you Jimmy!)  (You too Jesse!)
