Saturday, June 10, 2006.  Until we get used to the new hair cut, Ben will be the primary subject of our photography.

Last night we went to the opening of Cars.  We wanted to see it at the drive-in, but that show didn't start until way past bedtime, so we hurried over to the Ciniplex and got tickets before they sold out.    The movie was awesome.  And no one had to leave with Ben halfway through this time.  After getting his hair cut, he skipped his nap by going to the pool with Amy and Jackson.  He was so tired that he fell asleep on me midway through the movie.  He must have been really tired to sleep through what was probably the loudest kid's movie ever.  And again, I really enjoyed the movie a lot, it was loud in a very cool, big horsepower kind of way.  Jackson already wants to see it again.

This morning the boys and I took Zorro to the walking trail.  First Ben rode in the stroller while Jackson walked Zorro.  Then Jackson rode in the stroller with Ben pushing him while I walked Zorro.  No surprise though that it ended with me pushing both of them in the stroller and walking Zorro.  All three of the dogs were thrilled to have their first bath of the summer in the kiddie pool this afternoon.  Jackson helps me with this chore and does a great job.  In the old days he mostly sprayed me with the water hose while I tried to scrub the pups.  But this year he shampooed, combed, brushed and rinsed all three dogs without once spraying either the dogs or me in the face with the water hose.

As far as Ben's hair cut goes, we alternate between really missing his long hair and picking him up for big squeezing hugs because he is so cute in a brand new way.  We can also kiss him on the back of the neck for the first time.  But he either threw the two biggest fits of his life today or they just seem worse now that he doesn't look like a baby anymore.
