Thursday the 9th.  I'm going to abbreviate yesterday's events as much as possible, but I'll preface it by saying that when I got home from work I found Amy sitting outside on the side porch with a "Calgon take me away" expression on her face.

Amy took Benjamin to his first pediatric dentist appointment in Winston-Salem yesterday morning because he has an enamel defect on two of his top teeth resulting in perfectly mirrored cavities on the same teeth on both sides of the his mouth.  He will have to be put to sleep to fill them, which is very, very scary.  He also has to have a physical exam prior to the anesthesia.  Amy drove back to Mount Airy to wait for Jackson to get home from school, then drove to King to see our pediatrician.  She had to drive there because the new little receptionist was a _____ (you can fill in the blank) on the phone and not at all helpful.  Our pediatrician is the best and she made the correct decision to schedule an exam for next week rather than to just sign off on it.  A fun surprise was that our insurance will not cover the physical because he had one last June and it hasn't yet been twelve months.   And even after this physical, he will still need to go back in three months for his three year checkup.  So by the time Amy gets home it's just before five and too late to cook.  She goes to our upright freezer to get a frozen pizza and guess what...  everything in the freezer is cooked; the pork chops, the steaks, the chicken, etc... ( you can also read that list as the money, then money, the money, etc...).  It turns out that the freezer wasn't broken, it was turned off.  Three of the four people in our house didn't know you could do that, but it seems that the two year old did.  It took a lot of back-tracking, but I finally remembered getting popsicles out of the freezer for the boys Monday night with Ben standing right next to me inside the freezer door.   Apparently, while he was standing there, he was spinning the nice round knob from the coldest setting to OFF.  There, that's it, not the best day.

Today was much better though.  Ben spent a fun filled day with his Aunt Dee, who sent me the photos above.  And Amy went with Jackson on a kindergarten field trip to Sci-Works.   Both boys were exhausted from their exciting days and slept hard once they got home.   Jackson even slept through his karate class.
