A Wednesday Wrap-Up
Wrapping up the past week's thoughts and photos.
In a movie we were watching the other night three penguins filed in line behind three nuns to "blend in." Jackson said "I saw a movie with one of those praying guys in it." I said "oh yeah, where at?" "School" he said. Apparently they are half way through it and are going to finish it next week. Jackson gave me the following synopsis; "Did you know that there was once a man that had seven children and they had no mommy and he was going to get married to somebody else. They hired a new 'granny' that used to be one of those praying guys and she kept running off to the hills and singing and was always late. They got a telegraph from one of the girl's boyfriends and all ran away before anyone noticed and then they started dancing in a car." I said "I think you watched The Sound of Music." Jackson said "Yeah, I did. It's a real good movie."
I have been a Steelers fan for over thirty years and was VERY HAPPY that they won the AFC championship Sunday afternoon. If you flip this photo of Jackson horizontally you will see that he stood in front of the mirror and wrote Go Hokies on his belly (It's almost scary that he could do that, I don't think I would be able to write backwards that well.) Because the boys get my favorite college football team and favorite professional football team mixed up, they pretty much root for the Hokies no matter who is playing. I feel like I jinxed the Hokies by talking too much about them during their season, so I've been mum on the Steelers. But now we've made it to the Super Bowl and I am so excited. It's been ten years since they were there last, that was before Amy and I even met! It's a good thing too since her Cowboys beat us that year.
Amy and Ben were awake super early this morning. Once Jackson and I were up, we quickly got ready, then all went to our new donut store for breakfast before taking Jackson to school. We looked back during the five minute drive across town and saw Ben completely asleep and snoring. It was fun getting out early while it was still dark and spending time together. A nice change of pace.
I
love the jumping photos. Ben said "I jump like brudder!", then
leaped off the couch. He landed on his hiney the first few times, but got
the hang of it. Much better than
the last time he tried this trick.
Below are some of Jumping Jack Flash's leaping photos from over the years.
