Friday the 5th. I took today's photo at our local drive-in theater.

You may recall that our baby is now without his paci (or sans pooh as Ben would say).  Just in case you are wondering how that worked out for us, I'll give an update.  It has been up and down, but mostly successful.  Yes, I had to lay down with Ben twice to get him to fall asleep, and yes I fell asleep right along with him.  But on about half the nights he has made it till his 6:30 wakeup time in his own bed.  On other nights he has ended up in our bed.  See, with Jackson, it might have taken him six hours to close his eyes, which drove you crazy, but once he did, that was it.  You could start running a jackhammer in his room and he wouldn't stir.  But when Ben goes to sleep, he wakes back up.  In the pacifier days, he would have opened his eyes, gave his paci a few good hits and drifted back to sleep.  But now he wakes up, looks around, climbs out of bed, pushes his popper toy to the baby gate, then starts crying, unless the door is closed, in which case he starts beating on it.  Or as was the case one night, he pulls the baby gate on top of himself and falls into the wall head first.  On the whole though we have been very pleased, he has only asked for it in the van twice.  At naptime he apparently gets out of bed after Amy lays him down, gets a few favorite books, then reads until he falls asleep.  Although one day this week he got out of bed, managed to get naked, then climbed back into bed with his popper toy and fell asleep commando in a pile of books.
