Monday the 1st. Amy had waited to get Jackson his very own library card until he was old enough for it to mean something to him.  And today was the day.  After the walk back home, he called me at my office to tell me all about it.  He was very proud of it.  And why not, his very own library card, that's a big deal, it's another milestone.  He told me that you could only get two books on the first day you get your card, but the next time he comes back he can get all the books he wants.  Since he enjoyed Charlotte's Web so much, he checked out another EB White classic, The Trumpet Of The Swan, for himself and a Sesame Street book for Ben.  Ben has turned into quite a bookworm himself.  He likes for you to sit criss-cross applesauce so that he can plop down in your lap with a book and say "Thank you Daddy (or Mommy)".  Of course sometimes he just says "Thank you Mommy Daddy", that way he's covered whoever is behind him.  He doesn't let you read the stories like Jackson did though.  He has to be in control and just wants to talk about the pictures.  He takes your index finger and moves it to a picture and says "How bout that?" next picture "How bout that?" next picture "How bout that?"...

Oh, and we did watch Charlotte's Web yesterday.  We asked Jackson if it was a good as the book.  He said "No, not really, it wasn't really as good as the book."  We told him that was usually the way it works.

So the library card was news, but this is big, really BIG news, at least for us...  Because we stayed home all day yesterday and because we moved a twin mattress into the living room for the kids to jump on and because Amy and I were perfectly happy letting the kids run wild all afternoon, the house was turned just a little upside down last night.  So when it was time for the children to go to bed and after all the toys were picked up and everything was put back into its place, guess what was missing.  Both of Ben's pacifiers, that's right BOTH of them.   Bedtime and no pooh, PANIC!  Everyone joined the search, we all remembered seeing Ben with them sometime during the day, but where, where, where?  He only uses his pooh (yep, that's what Ben named his pacifiers) at bedtime and in the van, so we usually tuck them under his pillows each morning and following his nap.  But last night they weren't there.  Little Ben even tried looking behind his crib because he knows we used to find them there.  But alas, no pooh.  So, we first took a big deep breath, then said "well, I guess this is it."  Amy put him in his bed and.... nothing, he went to sleep.  He didn't wake up until six thirty this morning.  Amy found one of them behind Jackson's snack table today at lunch and into the drawer it went, right along side Jackson's old worn-out pacifier.   Hmmm, yet another milestone.

And now Jackson goes to kindergarten in two weeks, is our life on fast forward or something?
