Wednesday the 13th. Our nephew's stay with us is winding down, only two more days left.  We take him back home on Friday, so Amy and Jesse will miss the midnight release of Harry Potter at Pages on Main Street.  They might be able to make it at Books A Million in Colonial Heights though.  It also means that Amy and I won't have anyone around to point out how old we are.  When I called a motorcycle "phat", Jesse pointed out that "uh, Delane, you do know people don't really say that anymore don't you?"  He didn't believe me when I told him that what I really meant was fat, not phat, because of course I wouldn't be lame enough to say that.  Jesse and I were playing the name game last night.  He used angels Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore, but when I said Farah Fawcett, he said "who's she?"  Other things we'll miss, besides Jesse's good company of course, is having someone to climb under the van seats when Ben throws his pacifier and then starts yelling "pooh!  pooh!"

If you haven't read this already, Ben calls his pacifier his pooh.  No one knows why he named it that, but it cracks Jesse up when he can say "who wants to lick Ben's pooh?"  Because, yes, Ben is a second child, so, yes, we do just like the dust bunnies off for him.  We washed our first child's pacifiers off in the hottest water we could find, with soap, every time it hit the floor.  Good thing we don't have a third child, I guess we would just skip cleaning his paci off altogether.

This morning the kids went to Opie's Candy Store on Main Street, this afternoon they went to the pool, followed by karate (Jesse worked out with the class again tonight), and finally we met the Eads gang at Chili Verde.  Later Jesse and I are going to the 10:15 showing of Batman Begins.  It was a big day at the pool for Jackson.  He swam under water for the first time.  Amy said he did fantastic, swimming under the rope, and pretty much all over the pool.  This was another first for his milestones page.
